Wholesale body jewelry comes in a wide variety of sizes and gauges to meet the needs of different wearers. Depending on the type of jewelry, you may need to measure the length, diameter, or gauge. For accurate results, we recommend using a professional caliper or vernier caliper.
Measuring Length and Diameter
- Straight Body Jewelry: For items like barbells, industrial barbells, nose studs, labrets, and tapers, the length of the post is measured. This is the distance between the inner edge of one ball to the inner edge of the ball on the opposite end — where the jewelry sits inside the piercing.
- Round Body Jewelry: For pieces such as horseshoes, curved barbells, and nose hoop, the diameter is measured. This also applies to attachments like piercing balls. The diameter of balls and beads is measured across the outer edge, while curved posts are measured from the inner edge.
- Understanding Gauge: The gauge refers to the thickness of the jewelry that goes through the piercing. Choosing the correct gauge ensures comfort and proper healing.

Threading and Attachments
Loose attachments such as balls and cones are available in various sizes. When purchasing these parts, it's important to ensure the thread size of the attachment matches the thread size of the post. For instance, a 1.2mm-threaded ball must be paired with a 1.2mm-threaded post.
We use a universal threading system that fits mosts items with compatible threads. However, please note that our pieces may not be compatible with jewelry from other manufacturers that use different threading standards.
